Greencore appoints new Technical and Sustainability Director

Greencore has appointed Ruth McDonald as its new Technical and Sustainability Director

Greencore is a leading private label convenience food manufacturer supplying all of the major UK grocers, as well as convenience and travel retail outlets, discounters, coffee shops, foodservice and other retailers

Ruth joins from Morrisons, where she has been Corporate Services Director since 2022, where she lead on sustainability, product safety, health & safety, compliance, quality, business continuity and security, with full ownership and leadership of Morrisons’ ESG programme. Ruth was a member of the Executive Committee and in her previous role as Technical Director led on business quality, integrity, and food safety, leading her team through Covid, Brexit and supply chain challenges. Ruth has also held product, quality and sustainability roles at Samworth Brothers and Woolworths Group in Australia. She is a board member for the Food Industry Intelligence Network, as well as a Member of the Board of Trustees for the Institute of Grocery Distribution.
